Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) have grown to include 37 institutions serving over 28,000 students and are actively working to revitalize Native languages and culture, promote Tribal sovereignty, and further economic growth aligned with Tribal values.* According to the U.S. Dept of Education’s College Scorecard, here are the 8 largest TCUs in the nation based on undergraduate population:

1) Oglala Lakota College – Kyle, SD (1,450 undergraduates)


2) Diné College – Tsaile, AZ (1,402 undergraduates)


3) Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College – Cloquet, MN (996 undergraduates)



4) Salish Kootenai College – Pablo, MT (809 undergraduates)


5) Haskell Indian Nations University – Lawrence, KS (741 undergraduates)


6) Northwest Indian College – Bellingham, WA (653 undergraduates)


7) Sinte Gleska University – Mission, SD (550 undergraduates)


8) Turtle Mountain Community College – Belcourt, ND (537 undergraduates)
