5 MSIs That Host Spring Celebrations

Spring is finally here! As such, today’s Monday Morning MSI Line Up includes five MSIs giving spring festivities a fresh name. These five institutions have been hosting these large scale events for many years and participants can’t get enough.

1) Springfest: University of Southern California (AANAPISI)—Los Angeles, CA 


The campus of USC hosts Springfest every year. This massive celebration is highlighted by a concert that brings crowds numbering in the thousands. Past performers include artists such as Big Sean and WALK THE MOON. This year, the all-star lineup of artists included 2 Chainz, Portugal the Man, BØRNS, Isaiah Rashad, Audio Push, HOLYCHILD, and WALLA.

2) Spring Garden Festival: Cuyamaca College (HSI)—El Cajon, CA


This year marks the 24th Spring Garden Festival at Cuyamaca College. This celebration is a family-friendly celebration of spring that brings together more than 3,000 plus individuals each year. Included in the festival are exhibits and demonstrations which provide examples and best practices on how to become a better gardener and to take better care of our planet.

3) Art Attack: University of Maryland, College Park (AANAPISI)—College Park, MD

This year, UMD-College Park will celebrate its 32nd annual Art Attack concert on May 1, 2017.  Headlining the concert this year is Jessie J, with openers Logic and Chainsmokers.

4) Extravaganza: University of California, Santa Barbara (HSI)—Santa Barbara, CA

Extravaganza is an annual free concert that started on the campus of UCSB in 1979 and has been hosted every year since 1989. Past acts have included ODESZA, Rae Sremmurd, Zella Day, Emancipator, and many more.

5) Tigerfest: Grambling State University (HBCU)—Grambling, LA


This past month, GSU hosted its annual Tigerfest. It was a week filled with festivities, celebrities, and entertainers. The lineup included Migos, Jacques, Deray Davis, BlaQ Rob, and Steve Brown.
